With the success of PEC 2’s performance, a joint venture between Federal Land Incorporated (a member of the Metrobank Group of Companies) and Brent Oil Corporation was forged to establish Federal Brent Retail Incorporated in 2002 with its initial fully-integrated Petron Mega Gas Station located at the corner of Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard and EDSA Extension, Pasay City, Metro Manila. The project involved the integration of the Mega Gas Station and its food outlets complementing the adjacent Blue Wave Commercial Mall – Macapagal.
Last November 14, 2014, the New Petron at MET located at the corner of Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard and North Seaside Boulevard, Pasay City had its opening. The old Petron Blue Wave was then closed for business effective November 23, 2014.
In 2007, Federal Brent Retail Incorporated’s 2nd Petron Station adjacent to the Blue Wave Commercial Mall – Marquinton was inaugurated at the corner of Sumulong Highway and G. Fernando Avenue, Barangay Sto. Nino, Marikina City, Metro Manila.

Blue Wave Mall was first conceptualized sometime in May of 2002 through the partnership of two leaders in Philippine industry, Federal Land Inc., a real estate giant and a member of Metrobank group of companies headed by its chairman Mr. Alfred V. Ty and Brent Oil Corporation, a leader in wholesaler and retailer of liquefied petroleum products with Mr. Edward William S. Tan as its president.
The establishment, strategically located at the corner of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) corner President Macapagal Boulevard at Pasay City sits on around 1.5 hectares which houses more than thirty (30) retail stores, food and non-food combined. Petron Service Station then served as the anchor business unit and started its operation on December 13, 2002.The three primary purposes the business under the corporate name Federal Brent Retail, Inc., were operation of gasoline service station, food establishments and leasing of retail stores for food and non-food businesses.
Apart from Petron Service Station, the company ventured into operation of franchised stores namely; Pancake House Restaurant, Chowking Food, Treats Convenience Store, Gerry’s Grill Restaurant and Superbowl Restaurant. The venture was a huge success that most of our stores landed on the top ten of their respective categories nationwide.
The courtyard of the mall on the other hand provided nightly entertainment for customers. Live band and acoustic performances were rendered by top-rated artist as well as celebrities. Owing to the success of Blue Wave Mall at Macapagal, the company built another mall at Marikina City. It served as the first community Mall at Marikina with around fourteen thousand square meters of leasable spaces including four cinemas.
Today, an ongoing mall renovation in underway converting the old cinemas into a state-of-the-art Basketball, badminton and pickle ball courts where sports enthusiasts can enjoy their sports. Renaming the entire floor to BlueWave Sports Deck – an entire space dedicated to Sports, Health and Wellness.
Not only the third floor is having its make over but also the entire mall is scheduled for a glow up this 2026.
Since then, the company expanded to several strategic locations in key cities around Metro Manila and has opened its very first japanese restaurant- OOTOYA in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
A 1.5-hectare lifestyle destination in Pasay City, featuring over 30 retail and dining outlets anchored by Petron.
As a dining powerhouse, the mall’s top-tier franchises consistently rank among the highest-performing branches nationwide.
